I consider matcha to be the epitome of Christmas. It embodies radiant flavor, reviving energy, and vibrant color. The combination of matcha and peppermint in this protein-packed, comforting drink is perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plant milk (I use cashew milk)

  • 1 scoop Orgain vanilla bean protein powder

  • 2 teaspoons high-quality matcha

  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

  • Optional: maple syrup, honey, stevia, or other liquid sweeteners to taste

Directions

  • Add the milk to a saucepan heated over medium heat. Bring to a simmer until it reaches your desired temperature.
  • Add in the rest of the ingredients and froth with a milk frother or transfer to a blender if your blender can handle the heat. 
  • Top the drink with coconut whipped cream, crushed candy canes, or any other toppings you desire and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make this drink iced by skipping the heating step, blending all the ingredients together, and pouring over ice.
  • Add cocoa powder for a chocolaty treat.
